Monzo referral offers

Monzo referral rewards depend on the actual invite link. Some links give both people a fixed £5, others offer £10 plus an eligible free month of Monzo Extra, and mystery-reward links reveal a random cash amount after completion. Confirm your link’s reward and terms before starting.

There is no bank switch, Direct Debit or large deposit requirement. You need to claim the referral, open your account, add some money and make a qualifying card payment within 30 days.

Referral incentives are link-specific. Monzo has also published mystery cohorts paying £5/£10/£20, £10/£20/£50 or £20/£50/£100 to each participant; the highest outcome is never guaranteed. The promotion displayed on your invite is the one to follow. Check it before entering your number.

Claim an eligible Monzo referral before opening your account.

Use Find me a link to access an available Monzo referral asset through Bank Boost. You can use a valid invite from someone you know instead.

Open the referral and confirm that an incentive is displayed. Monzo says not every invite necessarily includes a referral bonus.

Enter your mobile number through the referral page before continuing to Monzo. If you sign up independently first, Monzo says it cannot retrospectively attach the referral.

Follow the referral journey into Monzo and apply for your new Monzo Current Account. Complete the normal application and identity-verification checks.

The standard Monzo Current Account is free and is enough to complete this referral offer. You do not need a paid Monzo plan to qualify for the cash reward shown on your link.

Your 30-day referral clock starts when you enter your mobile number through the invite. Apply promptly and do not leave the application unfinished.

Once your debit card arrives, follow Monzo’s prompts to activate it. You can check progress in Monzo → Home → 🎁 Referral hub.

Add some money to your Monzo account, then use your Monzo card to pay for something ordinary.

Monzo’s standard referral terms state that the qualifying card payment has no minimum amount. A small genuine purchase such as a coffee, groceries or lunch is enough; there is no need to spend £5, £10 or £20 purely to trigger the reward.

Use a normal card purchase rather than a bank transfer, cash withdrawal, account-funding transaction or other cash-like activity.

After you complete the referral requirements, Monzo pays the cash amount attached to your invite. For mystery-reward links, Monzo reveals the actual amount in the app after completion; the maximum is not guaranteed. Check the final amount and record that amount in your Bank Boost profit tracker.

Some £10 referral links include an optional free month of Monzo Extra. That trial is unavailable if you have an active plan or trial, recently closed or cancelled a paid plan, or completed a free trial in the previous 90 days. Check the terms shown for your link.

After the free month, Monzo may ask whether you want to continue with Extra by paying its monthly subscription fee. Do not continue onto a paid subscription unless the features are worth the ongoing cost.

If the reward has not arrived, check the referral hub and confirm that the invite displayed a bonus and that you completed each step within 30 days. Contact Monzo support through the app if everything is complete.

Once you are a Monzo customer, check whether your account has an incentivised referral offer.

In the Monzo app, look for Payments → Share your invite or open the 🎁 Referral hub. Monzo will show the reward currently available on your account.

Your reward as a referrer depends on the offer attached to your link. Under the £10-plus-Extra cohort it is £10 per successful referral; mystery cohorts have different random reward tables. In the variable-reward terms, the reward falls to £5 each after 100 successful referrals rather than the link expiring. No annual reset is stated.

Where a Monzo Extra trial is included, a referrer receives at most one free month, even after multiple successful referrals. Your link remains subject to Monzo’s current terms and anti-abuse checks.

When adding a link to Bank Boost, check its current reward in Monzo and keep it updated if Monzo changes your cohort. Bank Boost does not reset Monzo referral slots annually or treat 100 referrals as a hard cap.
