How to Use the Profit Tracker

Hey! If you’re reading this, you’ve probably banked your first few wins and are wondering how to keep track of it all without resorting to a messy, color-coded spreadsheet.

Welcome to the Profit Tracker! 👋

This guide will walk you through how to use it, step-by-step. Let’s get into it.

1. The Dashboard Tour 🧭

When you open the Profit Tracker, you’ll see a few main areas:

  • The Profit Display: This is your top-level "Net Profit" display. It dynamically updates based on the month or custom date range you are currently looking at.

  • The Ledger: Scroll down a bit, and you'll see "Your Entries". This is your actual ledger, neatly grouped chronologically by month.

  • Quick Access Menu: At the bottom (or on the right side if you're on desktop), you'll find the Quick Access menu. This is for managing Categories, Templates, your Recurring tracker, and Data exports.

2. Logging Your Wins (Adding Entries) 💰

Whenever you hit "Mark Complete" on an official Bank Boost offer guide, the system automatically logs the profit for you. But what about your own side hustles, like re-selling or doing a quick survey?

Adding a Manual Entry:

  1. Click the Add New Entry button (it has a big green '+').

  2. Fill in the Title, choose a Category, select the Date, and enter the Amount.

  3. Income vs. Expense: See that + / - toggle next to the amount? If an offer requires you to spend £5 to make £20, you can log that £5 as an expense by flipping the toggle to - (it will turn red).

⚡️ Pro Tip: Quick Adds (Templates) If you find yourself logging the same thing every week, click the little lightning bolt icon ⚡️ next to the Add Entry button. You can use Templates to instantly fill out the form in one click.

Editing & Deleting: Made a mistake? Just click on any row in your ledger to open the Edit Modal. Here you can fix the amount, change the date, or even add personal notes in the Description box. Note: If you are editing an official "System Offer", certain tracking details are locked to ensure your Bank Boost stats stay accurate, but you can always tweak the reward amount or date!

3. Filtering & Finding the Money 🔍

Once you have dozens of entries, you might want to isolate specific earnings.

  • Categories: At the top of the ledger, you'll see clickable categories. These are your Master Categories (like 'Bank Switch' or 'Side Hustle'). Click one, and a second row of "Sub-categories" will slide in, letting you filter down to the exact income stream.

  • Date filtering: Need to see what you made last November? Use the Month dropdown menu. Want to audit a specific tax week? Click the Custom date range calendar button to set exact "From" and "To" dates.

  • Sorting: By default, we show your newest entries first. But you can use the Sort dropdown to arrange by Oldest, Highest £, or Lowest £.

4. The Fun Stuff (Analytics & Goals) 📊

On the right side of the screen (or just below the ledger on mobile), you have your analytics.

  • The Snapshot Card: This gives you a quick pulse check on your finances. It highlights your Top Sources of income.

  • Profit Analytics Chart: You can toggle this between three views:

    • Line Chart: Shows your cumulative wealth growth over time.

    • Bar Chart: Great for comparing daily entry volume.

    • Doughnut Chart: A visual breakdown of your income portfolio. (We intelligently strip out expenses here so you just see pure profit distribution).

🎯 Goal Setting: Nothing beats the feeling of filling up a progress bar. You can set a custom Monthly Goal. As you log entries, the bar fills up green, showing you exactly what percentage of your target you've hit. You can use the calendar arrows on the Goal Card to look back at previous months and see if you hit your targets.

5. Making it Yours (Advanced Settings) ⚙️

Your financial journey is unique, so your tracker should be too.

  • Custom Categories: Head down to the Tracker Toolkit and click Categories. Here you can build your own Category Tree to fit exactly what you are doing (e.g., add a "Dog Walking" sub-category under "Side Hustles").

  • Data Export: Tax season approaching? Click Data in the Toolkit to download your entire ledger as a CSV file for your personal accounting.

🙌 Final Word That’s it. You do the offers, log the wins, and watch your profit go up.
